Translated from the Original Hindi by

Kanwar Dinesh Singh

He  was  running  with  full  vigour.  When he stopped, he found  himself  in  a  big city.  Despite  crying  so  many  times,  no  one  had  allowed  him  to  enter  their  holy city. Now, he was running towards the village.

He  was  well  aware  that  the  witch  who  followed  him  had  swallowed  his  parents as  well.  He  wasted  his  entire  life  getting  rid  of  the  captivity  of  this  witch. Somehow, he had escaped quietly one night.

He  knocked  on  the  door  of  a  hut.  Standing  in  a  wretched  condition,  the  wattle door  opened  as  soon  as  he  pushed  it.  But  the  instant  he  came  in  front  of  her,  he screamed  with  fear.  She  was  smiling  ferociously  while  standing  near  the  corpse of an old man.

“This old man also escaped from my clutches years ago. For a week I did not let him get up from the bed.”

Thinking  that  he  was  hungry  for  three  days,  his  stomach  cramped.  He turned around and ran away. She kept smiling.

As  soon  as  he  stopped  at  a  turn,  she  was  again  in  front  of  him.  Immediately,  he vomited a lot of blood and fell at her feet.
